Google Business Profile Tips for HVAC Companies

Fill out every part of your Google Business Profile accurately, add real photos and short posts every week, and ask every happy customer for a review. Google says local results are based on relevance, distance and prominence, and a complete, active profile with real reviews helps with the parts you control.

Get the basics exactly right

  1. Use your real business name. The name on your truck and your sign. Adding keywords or cities to your name breaks Google's guidelines and can get the profile suspended.
  2. Pick the right categories. Your main category should describe your core business, with additional categories for the other services you really offer.
  3. Set your service area. If customers don't come to you, hide your address and list the cities or counties you serve. Don't use a virtual office or mailbox as a storefront.
  4. Match your website. Your name, phone number and website should be exactly the same on your profile, your website and other listings like Bing and Apple.
  5. Keep hours current. Including holidays. Wrong hours are one of the fastest ways to lose a call.

Keep it active every week

  1. Add real photos. Your techs, your trucks and finished installs. Real photos of your work beat stock images every time.
  2. Post weekly. A short update with a photo or video: a job you finished, a seasonal tip, an offer. Add a button to call or book.
  3. List your services. Every service you offer, so your profile matches what people search for.

Reviews are the big one

  1. Ask after every good job. Text the customer your review link the same day, while the visit is fresh. Most happy customers will leave one if you make it easy.
  2. Reply to every review. Thank people by first name. For a bad review, reply calmly and offer to make it right offline.
  3. Never buy or trade reviews. Fake reviews and paying for reviews break Google's rules and can cost you the whole profile.

Measure what it brings in

Your profile shows how many people called, asked for directions or visited your website from it. Add a tracking tag to your website link so you can see in your own analytics which visits came from Google Maps.

Real photos and short videos are what keep a profile active. BTO Creative House films them for HVAC companies every month across Palm Beach, Broward, Martin and St. Lucie.
