How to Turn One Video Shoot Into a Month of Content
Plan the shoot before the day, film every idea in short pieces around a real job, and cut each piece several ways: a full walkthrough, short clips, ads and still photos. One well-planned half day can fill a month of posts. The trick is all in the planning.
Before the shoot
- Pick the month's message. One offer or season to push, like spring tune-ups or water heater replacements. Everything you film points back to it.
- Write a shot list. A list of every clip you need: the install, the tech intro, two common questions, a customer if one is willing. If it's not on the list, it usually doesn't get filmed.
- Film around a real job. Schedule the shoot on a job that's happening anyway, so the crew keeps working and the footage is real.
On the day
- Shoot vertical first. Reels, Shorts and Stories are vertical. Grab a few horizontal shots for YouTube and your website.
- Film in short pieces. Ten- to twenty-second takes are easier to cut into anything later than one long take.
- Get the answers on camera. Ask a tech the questions homeowners ask and let them answer in their own words. Each answer is its own post.
- Grab stills. Photos of the crew, the truck and the finished work for your Google profile, website and posts.
After the shoot
- Cut the long version. A full walkthrough of the job for YouTube, your website and Facebook.
- Cut the short ones. Four to eight short clips from the same footage: the install, the before and after, each answer, the tech intro.
- Turn the best into ads. The clips that get watched most become your ads, with a clear offer and one next step.
- Schedule it. Spread it across the month (three or four posts a week) so you're consistent without filming every week.
What one shoot can turn into
From a single half day: one full walkthrough video, a handful of short clips, a few ads to test, and a set of real photos for your Google profile and website. That's a month of showing up without scrambling for something to post.
This is how BTO Creative House works: one planned shoot at your business every month, four short ads ready to run, and you approve every video before it goes out.
